Jammu, March 24: Questioning the total failure of the government to handle the situation in Nowshera, the JKPCC has strongly condemned the government action on agitating people at Nowshera resorting to heavy lathi charge and indiscriminate use of teargas on the peaceful protestors.
In a joint statement JKPCC President G.A. Mir, Senior Vice President Sham Lal Sharma, Vice President Raman Bhalla and Chief Spokesperson Mr. Ravinder Sharma have strongly criticized State Govt. for resorting to lathi charge and teargas with a view to crush the peaceful movement of people as a result several people reported to their injuries and referred to JMC Jammu.
They said that it is unfortunate that Govt. has resorted to this kind of action on peaceful protest demonstration, after it failed to open the market and suspend the agitation. This kind of action in a democratic movement is uncalled for and highly condemnable. They said that the ruling leaders were fully behind the intensification of the movement and extended their full support in the beginning. Now the Govt. has chosen to resort to direct action but these arm twisting methods are unfortunate.
The PCC leaders squarely blamed the Govt. for mishandling the entire issue very beginning by announcing creation of administrative units in a piece meal and pick & choose manner. They conveyed solidarity with agitating people especially those injured and prayed for their early recovery besides action against the official responsible for resorting to this kind of illegal action regarding to excessive use of force.
