The largest pan-India rural sanitation survey will commence today under the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.
The survey will continue till the end of August. It will also rank districts based on their sanitation level.
The criteria set for ranking includes construction and use of toilets under the Swach Bharat Mission- Gramin, direct observation of sanitation at public places and feedback from citizens.
The survey will help in improvising the infrastructure development for improved sanitation services. It will also help in achieving the goal of Clean India by 2nd October next year.
